Make the first step towards a better you.

Welcome to Counseling Services for Wellbeing. My name is Jaymie and I am joining you all the way from the Midwest as I am located in the Show-Me State of Missouri and will be offering telemedicine for children and adolescents. I was born and raised in the Belleville, KS and was transported to Missouri through the military. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who specializes in the needs of pediatrics (5 years of age) to adolescents (18 years of age). My role is to assess the mental and emotional wellbeing and to develop a treatment plan that will improve his or her quality of life. Before I was a PMHNP, I worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit and psychiatric residential unit as a psychiatric nurse and served individuals who were struggling, and many were at their lowest points in their life. In my free time I am entertained by my 4 children and I enjoy watching them achieve all their goals.

As a Child and Adolescent PMHNP, my philosophy is to meet my patients where they are and to provide care that is patient centered. We look at the whole picture as many aspects in life affect our mental and emotional wellbeing. It is imperative that we look at all pieces of one’s life in efforts to create a treatment plan that is attainable, beneficial, and agreed upon. In addition, information will be gathered from the patient and the family, as well as one’s values will be respected during this process. I approach my patients in a relaxed and comforting manner in a judgement free zone as building a relationship with one another is important to be able to discuss information that may be challenging. In addition, the patient will be heard, and decisions are made jointly, between myself and those I treat. Furthermore, not only do I This will lead to care that is tailored to meet the needs and will led to a positive outcome. The treatment plan that we create as a team may include non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods. In my practice, I am conservative with pharmacological treatments and I prescribed based off of FDA recommendations. I also develop my treatment plan based off evidence-based practice.

As a team, we will work together to find what works best for the patient. Everyone today struggles in one form or another, and some cover it up better than others. However, we are all worthy of enjoying life, love, happiness, and belonging. So, always choose to be kind as you may not know what others are enduring at the time.
