I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Seattle University. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. I provide adult individual counseling.
I was born and raised in Seattle, and I come from a culturally mixed family and community. Experiencing different versions of spirituality and cultural narratives from an early age made me naturally curious about the unique lived experience of others.
For the past 6 years, I have been in clinical settings working with people of all ages who have experienced a range of trauma, poverty and social inequality. I began my journey in the mental health field at a community mental health organization working with individuals struggling with chronic mental health issues, and stayed on in various capacities for 3 years. After receiving my Master’s degree, I worked specifically with Native American youth and adults in the greater Seattle area in home, community and school settings providing individual and family therapy. I have also been in private practice prior to joining the team at Counseling Services for Wellbeing. My areas of focus include life transitions, existential concerns, cultural and spiritual identity, and family of origin issues.
My approach is influenced by holistic, existential/humanistic, feminist and trauma-informed perspectives. Based on the individual needs of my clients, I draw upon a combination of theoretical orientations including solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices.
I believe you already have the inner wisdom and strength that you need to heal; my role is to facilitate the space to help get you there. I provide a safe and supportive environment so we may move through your sufferings together with compassion, and honor your experiences. Together we can explore the places where you feel stuck and concerns that may be keeping you from moving forward or are causing you distress. Through this process we can hope to heal emotional wounds, create tools for resolving problems and form new meaning and hope for the future.
