I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Addiction Studies from Syracuse University. I received by Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
I enjoy working with youth, teens, and adults who are challenged by anxiety, communication, boundaries, transitions, and relationship difficulties.
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Washington to connect with nature and experience the beautiful scenery that this state has to offer. Growing up, I was a family member impacted by the effects of addiction. Through this experience, I recognized the importance of trust, boundaries, and compassion. I became aware that we are all part of a larger system, and will always influence and be influenced by family, friends, peers, and the community at large. It is through these networks that we learn to navigate interpersonal connections, increase awareness, and foster acceptance.
Most of my experience has taken place in a community mental health agency. My days were focused on working with youth and families in the office and public school settings. In addition to talk-therapy, I led hiking and outdoor groups that encouraged clients to embrace the healing power of nature and to promote growth through the interaction of others and their environment. I also partnered with the CHILL agency to provide youth the opportunity to challenge themselves through board sports. Through these experiences, I have been privileged to watch youth build life skills, increase self-esteem, make meaningful connections, and improve overall wellbeing.
In my strengths-based and person-centered approach, I work to create a trusting and supportive relationship with you. I provide a non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to explore the obstacles that are holding you back from achieving a life that you are proud of. I will meet you where you are at and journey with you as you become empowered by recognizing your own strengths and skills.
I will also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Systems Theory. My approach will be based on your individual needs. I encourage transparency during our time together to ensure you are feeling heard and that your needs are being met. I will teach you skills to manage your current struggles and tools to help you feel more confident in managing obstacles in the future.
I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals and create a fulfilling life.
