I hail from the wild west state of Arizona. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University and my nursing degree from Gateway Community College in Phoenix, AZ. I earned my graduate nursing degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA after relocating to beautiful Washington. My entire nursing career has been in the service of helping to care for others struggling with mental health. I bring along a wealth of knowledge and experience across all areas of psychiatric care including: substance detox/recovery, crisis intervention, forensics, community mental health, community outreach,
inpatient co-occurring disorders and with severe trauma/PTSD. I love to teach and I’ve long been a mentor to other nurses and a preceptor to nurse practitioner students.

I love and strive to take the stigma out of mental health and help my patients make sense of their lives by embracing their unique journey. Recovery is a process that includes working hand in hand to tailor a plan that that works best for you. I pride myself in a personalized treatment experience because mental health is not a one-size-fits-all journey. I’m a down-to-earth clinician with a deep sense of empathy, compassion and a quirky sense of humor. I believe that laughing is good for your soul and essential to your recovery. I cherish relationships across disciplines and believe that prescribing medication is a small part in your journey and that therapy is a cornerstone to recovery. My approach encompasses acceptance to meet you where you are in your journey and I use a seek to understand philosophy. I offer brief cognitive behavioral therapy and utilize motivational interviewing to help you overcome your road blocks to recovery.
